08.01.16 Second Cook
Reports To: 1. Chief Steward or Chief Cook
The position requires that the individual have prior experience on working on a regasification vessel.
Responsibilities
1\. The Second Cook must understudy the Chief Cook and take charge of catering in the galley when required and has to be prepared to take over the Catering Operation in any un foreseen circumstances
2\. Must be able to work with Office programs WORD & EXCEL
3\. Must make a menu for the ratings and after approval by the Chief Cook and preparing all meals for the Ratings.
4\. In charge of the daily bread baking and preparation of teatime snack and with cooperation of the Officers Mess man prepare the desserts as per menu made by the Chief Cook.
5\. Must ensure accurate monitoring and control over the contents of cold rooms, dry provisions and stores.
6\. In charge of deep cleaning deep fat fryer, galley filters and ovens and cleanliness, maintenance and checks of provisions stores
7\. Must assist in the supervision and maintenance of all required ships and personal safety standards at all times, that PPE is worn and that all Catering Personnel strictly adheres to ships and personal safety, hygiene and sanitary food handling requirements
8\. Must carry out any lawful command and delegated duty as issued by the Chief Cook and assist in completing all jobs accordingly to maintain required standards and filling of HACCP documentation.
