We are looking for a Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal, Sustainability & Management System team at Nordkalk.

In this role, you will work closely with our businesses across Northern Europe, providing practical and solution-oriented legal advice on a broad range of commercial and operational matters. You will be part of an international industrial environment where legal expertise plays an important role in supporting business decisions, managing risks and enabling sustainable growth.

As part of our Legal team, your day-to-day work will include a variety of in-house legal matters, particularly drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and providing practical legal advice to our businesses. In addition, depending on your experience, strengths and interests, you will take ownership of a defined area of responsibility within our Legal function and develop it further. This could include, for example, commercial contracts and business development, dispute resolution and risk management, environmental matters or other areas where your expertise can make a difference.

We are looking for someone who not only enjoys solving legal questions but also wants to take initiative, develop ways of working and contribute to how legal support is delivered across the organisation.

You will work closely with business stakeholders and colleagues across Nordics and different functions, and report directly to our Chief Legal Officer.

What we are looking for

• A Master of Laws degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience in business law, preferably gained in an international business environment, a law firm or an in-house legal role
• Strong legal expertise and the ability to provide practical, business-oriented advice
• A proactive and independent approach, with the confidence to take ownership and drive matters forward
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with different stakeholders
• Excellent written and spoken Finnish and English; Swedish is considered as an advantage
• Curiosity, a solution-oriented mindset and a genuine interest in developing both yourself and the way we work

We welcome applicants with different levels of experience. The final scope of responsibilities and position as Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel will be determined based on the selected candidate's expertise and capabilities.

The position is preferably based at our headquarters in Parainen (Turku region), but other locations, such as Lohja or Lappeenranta, may also be considered.
