Varhaiskasvatuksen opettaja / Early Childhood Education Teacher

As an ECE Teacher, you will play an important role in planning, implementing, observing and documenting pedagogy for children aged 16. You will work closely with colleagues, childcarers and families to create a calm, reflective and respectful learning environment where childrens voices are genuinely heard and their curiosity is supported.

Main responsibilities

• Plan, implement and document pedagogy in line with the Finnish early childhood education framework and Carousels Reggio Emilia inspired approach

• Lead and evaluate the pedagogical work of the child group together with the team

• Observe childrens learning, development and wellbeing and use this to guide planning

• Build warm and trusting relationships with children and families

• Support an inclusive, safe and emotionally responsive learning environment

Requirements

• Eligibility to work as a varhaiskasvatuksen opettaja in Finland

• Strong spoken and written English

• Finnish language skills are a strong advantage

• Previous experience in Finnish early childhood education is appreciated

• A collaborative, reflective and professional approach to teamwork

• A valid criminal record extract for work with children in Finland before employment begins
