Who you are
You are an experienced, people-centred HR professional who combines sound judgement with a warm, practical way of working. You enjoy being a reliable partner to leaders and co-workers, take ownership of your work, and bring people together to find solutions that support both wellbeing and business results. You can move confidently between employment relations, work ability management and everyday HR processes, while helping change happen in a clear and respectful way.
- You have several years of broad HR experience and can provide practical, trusted support to leaders, co-workers and the business.
- You have expertise in work ability management and a relevant educational background in education, psychology or a related field, supported by hands-on experience.
- You understand collective agreements and employment relations, ideally the Finnish Commerce Collective Agreement or another collective agreement you have applied in your work.
- You know how to work closely with occupational health partners and use wellbeing insights to support sustainable everyday working life.
- You build trust through approachable, clear and confidential communication, and you can document and explain HR matters accurately to different audiences.
- You take responsibility for moving agreed actions forward, stay calm when priorities change and work independently while actively asking for and offering support.
- You have ability to embrace different IT solutions and use them in your daily tasks.
- You are fluent in both Finnish and English and enjoy bringing people together across the Tampere unit to make change practical, inclusive and meaningful.
What you'll be doing day to day
As a Unit P&C Generalist, you will make a real difference to everyday working life at IKEA Tampere. You will partner with leaders and co-workers to make our People & Culture plans happen in practice, strengthening wellbeing, capability and a workplace where everyone can contribute. Your work brings together hands-on HR support, employment relations and organisational development. You will listen, give clear advice and turn insights into simple actions that help the unit grow through people.
- You will partner with unit leaders to plan, deliver and follow up local People & Culture actions that support business priorities and a positive co-worker experience.
- You will provide practical HR advice and coaching to leaders and co-workers on employment relations, policies, procedures and everyday people matters.
- You will coordinate work ability management and occupational health collaboration, helping to find timely, respectful and sustainable solutions for co-workers.
- You will support leaders in developing their leadership capabilities and help co-workers build the skills needed today and tomorrow also executing trainings and on-boarding process for co-workers and managers
- You will contribute to fair and constructive cooperation with employee representatives and ensure that local practices follow applicable collective agreements, legislation and IKEA ways of working.
- You will execute operational people related tasks and daily routines on unit level, e.g. on- and offboarding related tasks.
- You will use people data, feedback and everyday observations to identify opportunities, improve HR processes and make clear recommendations that lead to action.

This position is full time 37,5 h/week and fixed term until 17.9.2027. Starting in the role by agreement, but no later than 2.11.2026.
In this role your working hours may vary from 08.00 - 18.00 based on business needs. Main working location is IKEA Tampere store.
The salary for the position starts at 3099 €/month and will be specified during the recruitment process based on the selected candidates experience, skills, and the final content of the role.
