Are you an experienced industrial systems architect ready to take on a leading role at the intersection of industrial digitalization, AI, and modern platform solutions? We are looking for a Lead Architect, Industrial Platforms who designs comprehensive technical solutions that bridge business challenges with technology in manufacturing R&D, production, and aftersales environments - ensuring alignment with organizational goals, security, and scalability.
In this role, you will work closely with industrial customers and with our Director, Industrial Platform Solutions, to architect and deliver solutions across key operational technology and information technology domains. You will be a key technical authority in our Industrial Platform Solutions competence area, which focuses on the digitalization of industrial customers R&D, production, and aftersales environments through modern IT and OT platforms, industrial software, data and AI solutions, as well as secure and scalable data and integration architectures.
The role is based in our Tampere or Espoo office, and the work will be done in a hybrid model according to our needs.
Your main responsibilities
Architecture Design: Creating detailed architecture specifications, diagrams, and documentation for industrial platform solutions spanning ERP, MES, MOM, PLM, and SCADA environments, the industrial data platform layer, IIoT solutions, smart factory and production system integrations, as well as industrial AI and analytics solutions.
Product Data Lifecycle: Understanding and designing for the full lifecycle of product data - from R&D and engineering through production, quality, and aftersales - ensuring traceability, consistency, and usability of data across systems and process boundaries.
Strategic Alignment: Mapping business requirements in manufacturing R&D, production, and aftersales processes to technical solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and alignment with customers long-term digitalization strategies.
Technology Selection: Evaluating and recommending industrial platforms, integration architectures, data platforms, IIoT technologies, and AI/analytics tools that align with customers technical strategies and Etteplan service offering.
Implementation Oversight: Guiding delivery teams during implementation to ensure adherence to the designed architecture and quality standards across the delivery chain.
Pre-sales and sales support: Working in a pre-sales capacity, you identify customer needs, define solution scopes, and propose bold, value-creating architectures. You contribute to proposals, RFPs, and customer workshops, acting as a trusted technical advisor during the sales process.
Stakeholder Management: Communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and acting as a bridge between customer business teams, technical teams, and Etteplan internal experts.
Your required skills and experience
Industrial Domain Expertise: Strong background in industrial manufacturing environments, with hands-on experience with systems such as ERP, MES, MOM, PLM, and SCADA, as well as IIoT solutions, smart factory concepts, and production system integrations.
Industrial Data and AI: Solid understanding of industrial data platforms, analytics, AI/ML solutions, and their application in manufacturing R&D, production, and aftersales contexts. Ability to design for product data lifecycle from engineering through end-of-life.
Technical Architecture: Strong background in solution and enterprise architecture (minimum 10 years of relevant experience), system integration, and cloud-based technologies applied in industrial contexts.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences, including industrial customers business and technology stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex industrial integration and data challenges and design effective, creative solutions.
- A Master degree in computer science, automation, information technology, or a related field. - Extensive experience in solution architecture, industrial software design, and IT/OT integration. - Experience in a technical leadership role. - Language skills: fluent English, working Finnish skill beneficial.

Your salary reflects your competencies and contributions, in line with our way of working. For this role, the typical monthly salary is 5500-7500€/month, depending on your background.
