We are now inviting applications for a Tenure Track-position in Industrial Management, especially in Strategic Project Management.
The position will be filled either as a fixed-term Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position within the Tenure track system, or as a permanent Professor position. The level is determined by the applicant's merits and career stage.
Job description and requirements
The field of activity is industrial management with a special focus on strategic project management. Position is located in the [School of Technology and Innovations](https://www.uwasa.fi/en/university/organisation-and-management/school-technology-and-innovations).
We are looking for a promising researcher with demonstrated research capabilities and high potential, with knowledge and skills particularly in the field of project business and project-based management. The candidate is expected to carry out outstanding research, acquire external research funding and teach in [Strategic Project Management Master's Programme](https://www.uwasa.fi/en/education/masters-programmes/industrial-engineering-and-management)(in Seinäjoki). The research focus of the candidate is expected to fall under topics of strategic management of projects and project-based organizations. The research themes could include governance topics, collaborative aspects of projects, sustainability management, servitization, projectification of industries and topics under project business.
The appointed tenure track will join the [Networked Value Systems (NEVS)](https://www.uwasa.fi/en/research/groups-and-focus-areas/nevs-networked-value-systems) research group. In both research and teaching, we bring together diverse themes from business and engineering. These include operations and supply chain management, project business, digital manufacturing and quality management, technology and innovation management and the sustainable energy transition.
The prospective candidate needs to have a Doctoral degree in industrial engineering, industrial management, project management, or a closely related field (e.g., management science). The position requires strong expertise, knowledge and research experience about project business and management. In addition, theoretical knowledge or practical experience in the energy industry, sustainability transitions, circular economy, and/or manufacturing is considered an advantage.
The tenure track position is research-oriented, but also includes teaching, thesis supervision, applying for external research funding and university administrative tasks. The teaching and supervision activities of the position are intended to support the study programmes of Industrial Management and the University of Vaasa doctoral programme.
The annual working time is 1612 hours based on the general collective agreement for Finnish universities and tasks are agreed in more detail in the Annual Work Plan.
