We are looking for a BIM Coordinator at Hitachi Energy, Grid Integration business. This role is located in Vaasa, Finland, and is part of the Nordic Operating Unit (Finland, Sweden, Denmark) BIM team.
The business line designs and delivers complete substations for distribution and transmission grids. In close co-operation with customer and other Hitachi Energy teams we deliver solutions to many segments, like renewables, battery energy storages, datacenters, industry, utilities and green hydrogen sector. We are offering an interesting position in an international project environment and various development possibilities in Building Information Modeling.
As a BIM Coordinator, you manage Common Data Environment, maintain design models, create documentation, and communicate effectively with global colleagues, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. You will also sometimes need to create and maintain Building Information Models. You will support the Nordic Operating Unit Digitalization Initiative. The job includes some internal travelling and site visits as needed.
How you'll make an impact
· Manage the project Common Data Environment, providing training and support to project and tender team to ensure its effective use.
· Implement BIM tools in projects and deliver training to Engineering, Project Management and site personnel.
· Conduct 3D design reviews and model coordination meetings, clash-detection assist in the coordination efforts of all parties involved.
· Prepare BIM modeling requirements and guidelines (incl. BEP) from contract requirements and internal requirements for BIM use throughout the project lifecycle.
· Manage BIM model development for projects.
· Create 3D renderings and animations when needed.
· BIM modeling and content management and creation which includes 3D and 4D models.
· Contribute to the preparation and revisions of project budgets/estimates.
· Prepare periodic progress reports and presentations regarding the status of projects as required by the management.
· Be part of BIM Coordinator team to develop BIM processes and tool usage in Nordic countries and Europe.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project integration and successful outcomes in international project environment.
Your background
· Good knowledge of BIM cloud platforms specifically BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud/Forma.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience using Navisworks and Revit.
· Knowledge of BIM requirements and standards in Finland and other Nordic countries.
· Experience working on medium to large-scale projects.
· Solid understanding of BIM processes and global BIM standards.
· A minimum of a bachelors degree in construction, design, or related field.
· A self-motivated and proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
· Quick to learn and adapt to new BIM tools and processes.
· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Fluent written and spoken Finnish, with strong written and spoken English skills. Proficiency in other Nordic languages is considered an advantage.
