Kuvaus
We are looking for a Purchaser to support successful project execution through procurement, commercial evaluation of supplier offers, supplier negotiations, proactive order follow-up and ensuring accurate purchasing data throughout the procurement process.
The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland, but Helsinki may be considered for the right candidate. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Purchaser, you will support the successful execution of projects by ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. You will work closely with project teams, strategic purchasers, suppliers, logistics, engineering, and other key stakeholders to secure deliveries according to project requirements and schedules.
You will be joining a skilled and collaborative Procurement team where we support each other, take ownership of our work, and continuously look for ways to improve.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Reviewing purchase requisitions and evaluating supplier offers
- Creating and managing purchase orders
- Conducting supplier negotiations and commercial discussions
- Actively following up orders to secure on-time deliveries and accurate order confirmations
- Monitoring delivery performance and proactively addressing potential risks and delays
- Maintaining accurate purchasing, supplier, and delivery data in SAP
- Collaborating closely with project teams, strategic purchasers, logistics, and suppliers
- Contributing to continuous improvement of procurement processes and ways of working
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:
- Experience from a similar position with a proven track record
- Strong experience in supplier negotiations and commercial decision-making
- Commercial or technical education (B.Sc. or M.Sc.)
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining high-quality data
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- A proactive mindset and willingness to continuously learn and develop
Considered an advantage:
- Experience in project business, energy, or supply chain management
- Experience with Power BI, Logwis or similar business systems
- Experience with supplier performance follow-up and delivery management
- Finnish and/or Swedish language skills
