Uber Eats is evolving. Were expanding beyond food delivery into a platform for delivering what people need, whether thats groceries, pharmacy items, or retail goods. At the heart of this shift is INCA (Inventory & Catalog): the system that ingests, enriches, and normalizes merchant inventory data and serves it reliably across Ubers global systems.
Were looking for a Software Engineer in Aarhus who wants to grow with this platform and contribute to how we store, update, and publish catalog and inventory information around the world for Uber Eats.

**What You Will Do**
As part of the Catalog & Inventory team, your work will help shape how Ubers delivery platform scales, adapts, and expands into new categories. The services you contribute to will help:
- Serve everyones shopping needs, from small convenience stores to large supermarkets, with consistent, accurate catalog and inventory data.
- Make it easier for new merchants and business verticals to connect their inventory with our systems.
- Keep inventory and catalog data accurate and fresh in real time, even under heavy load.
- Support the reliability and extensibility of Ubers delivery platform as it grows into new categories.
You will:
- Implement backend services in Go that support catalog and inventory workflows across Ubers marketplace.
- Build and maintain reliable systems that handle real-time updates and ingestion workloads at scale.
- Work with cross-functional teams, engineering, merchant integrations, search, fulfillment, and product to create aligned APIs and data models.
- Write high-quality code with a focus on clean implementation, good test coverage, and operational confidence.
- Participate in design discussions and contribute practical technical ideas with guidance from more senior engineers.
- Improve team practices around monitoring, documentation, and operational processes as you grow in your role.
**Basic Qualifications**
Required
- 4+ years building backend services at scale.
- Experience coding with Go, C++, Java, or Python.
- Experience with event-driven architecture.
- Ability to turn business problems into effective technical designs.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and iterating on solutions.
Nice to Have
- Experience with large catalog, search, or metadata platforms.
- Experience with distributed systems.
- Familiarity with distributed data stores, caches, and publish/subscribe systems.
- Background in e-commerce, retail platforms, or content management systems.
- Contributions to open-source projects or public technical discussions.
