Are you an automation engineer who wants more than just writing PLC code?
This role is built for engineers who want to own the full arc of a project, from sitting down with a customer to define what a solution actually needs to be, through specifying and sourcing the right hardware and software stack in collaboration with suppliers, all the way to assembling and wiring the system hands on in our own Vantaa facility as part of a tight knit installation team. When the system is ready, you travel with it: commissioning on site, troubleshooting live, and making sure everything performs the way it was promised.
Our projects live under Etteplans delivery umbrella. This means you get the engineering depth of a large organization while still feeling the full weight and satisfaction of a project from first whiteboard sketch to final sign-off.
If you have your first industrial automation projects behind you and know your way around PLCs, schematics, and real factory floors, but are not ready to step away from hands on technical work, this is the seat for you. You will integrate PLCs, robotics, and data systems into complete customer solutions, with each project bringing something new.
Broad skills, genuine ownership, and the kind of variety that keeps the work interesting. That is what we are offering.
Key Responsibilities
·Develop and implement PLC programs as part of industrial automation solutions
·Contribute to the integration of PLCs, robotics, AMRs, and data systems into complete solutions
·Interpret electrical schematics and support system definition activities
·Assist in ensuring overall system functionality, performance, and reliability
·Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineering
·Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities
·Work with customers and internal teams to clarify requirements and refine solutions
What We Expect from You
·Background in discrete production and/or manufacturing automation
·Experience in industrial automation projects, with a solid understanding of how systems are implemented in practice
·Strong focus on PLC programming as a core responsibility, with knowledge of higher- level data integrations
·Experience with Siemens, Beckhoff or B&R automation systems and text-based programming languages
·Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical installation work: comfortable using hand and power tools, reading wiring diagrams on the shop floor, and working safely with low-voltage systems
·Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
·Interest in robotics, AMRs and simulations
·Practical, solution-oriented mindset and ability to adapt to changing requirements
·Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
·Fluency in English and Finnish
·Willingness to travel occasionally
·Ability to work regularly on site in Vantaa
