At Novia University of Applied Sciences, we generate new knowledge, practical applications, and creative solutions through our activities in applied Research, Development and Innovation (RDI). We carry out multidisciplinary projects and are an active and dynamic participant in regional, national, and international networks. In the coming years, we expect our activities within international cooperation and partnership projects to continue to grow.
About the position
Novia's ambition is to promote and strengthen our international RDI activities and to create better conditions for securing competitive funding, primarily through European funding instruments.
As a Research Specialist, your primary responsibility is to actively contribute to the preparation and development of funding applications at the Faculties of Business, Health and Welfare, as well as Arts and Culture. When needed, you also contribute to the development of Novia's RDI activities and strategic initiatives beyond the preparation of funding applications.
We are looking for someone who
- Holds a relevant doctoral degree.
- Has at least three years of experience in research, research support services, or research funding.
- Has a proven track record of developing competitive research proposals, particularly for EU funding instruments.
- Has excellent communication skills in English; good knowledge of Swedish and/or Finnish is considered an asset.
- Has strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Has good knowledge of responsible research practices.
- Has a goal-oriented approach to work and strong collaboration skills.
Employment
Starting from October 12, 2026, or as agreed.
With the applicant's consent, a limited security clearance/check may be conducted.
Salary in accordance with the collective agreement for universities of applied sciences and Novia's internal guidelines. The position includes a sixmonth probationary period.

As agreed: Vaasa, Turku, or Jakobstad.
