Lead Consulting Engineer, Energy, Industry

Your role and the team

Join us at Elomatic as we strengthen our highly skilled Energy Consulting team of around 55 professionals, working together with clients in energy and industrial consulting projects and M&A-related assignments. Our offices are located in Espoo, Jyväskylä, Oulu, Tampere, and Turku – tell us your preferred location in your application.

As a Lead Consulting Engineer, you will play a key role in driving the transformation of the energy and industrial sectors by leading demanding consulting assignments directly with clients. You are responsible for delivering high-quality technical and commercial expertise across investment and development projects, working in close collaboration with client stakeholders, project teams, and multidisciplinary experts.

The role combines strong domain expertise with project leadership and clear ownership of consulting deliverables. You will define and guide analyses, assess technical and commercial feasibility, and support decision-making across the project lifecycle, from early-stage concept development and feasibility studies to due diligence and procurement phases.

You will lead or contribute to projects such as feasibility studies, due diligence assignments, and procurement-phase activities, including the preparation of technical documentation and participation in contract negotiations. Your work is closely linked to the ongoing transformation of the energy and industrial sectors, enabling the development of new solutions together with clients management and technical experts.

In addition to project delivery, you will actively contribute to client relationship management, sales, and proposal preparation. Depending on your interests, you may also play a role in developing consulting services and business offerings. You will be part of our Industry Business Unit, working alongside approximately 400 engineering professionals.

What helps you succeed in this role

We are looking for an experienced professional in the energy or industrial sector, who can work independently in demanding expert and project leadership roles.

• A relevant technical higher education degree
• 5–10 years of experience in similar roles within relevant industries
• Experience in project management and working in client-facing roles
• Experience in sales, bid preparation, and/or business development
• Fluency in Finnish and English (spoken and written)

We also value

• Understanding of energy system modelling and analysis, including energy balance calculations
• Expertise in refrigeration technology and heat pump solutions
• Experience in techno-economic analysis and investment evaluation
• Experience in project procurement and procurement consulting
• Familiarity with digital tools used in consulting, including analytics, simulation, and automation
• Ability to support and mentor other team members when needed
