Senior IT Project Manager - Data & AI Migrations, Espoo

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager on behalf of our client to lead critical data and AI initiatives within their Hydro business area. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of parallel workstreams at 100% allocation for three months. This position offers an excellent vantage point in the energy sector, combining complex data migrations, modern AI applications, and enterprise IT governance.

Work tasks

The role involves managing the full lifecycle of data platform migrations and AI application deployments, focusing on stakeholder alignment, technical validation, and operational readiness.

• Lead the Hydro ADP to FDP data platform migration pilot and validate technical feasibility.
• Manage the implementation and deployment of AI-powered applications for environmental permitting.
• Define project scope, success criteria, and deliver go/no-go recommendations to steering groups.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, external vendors, and key business stakeholders.
• Ensure project execution aligns with IT governance models and cyber security standards.
• Oversee project budgets, resource planning, and comprehensive risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage dual-run validation, testing coordination, and formal handover to operations.

We are looking for

• Advanced knowledge of IT project management within enterprise environments.
• Proven experience leading data platform migrations and pilot-to-scale implementations.
• Basic knowledge of data architecture, including data models, governance, and structures.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive security clearance (SUPO/SÄPO).

It is meritorious if you have

• Proficiency in Finnish or Swedish.
• Professional experience within the energy industry.
• Familiarity with Azure, Databricks, and PowerBI environments.
